CLI command reference

All 168 visible commands from man --json, grouped by purpose, with scope and execution cautions.

Reviewed October 23, 2026. This reflects the current source code, not a certified running build or a public release announcement.

Installed CLI contract

The complete visible command list comes from the existing commandem man --json contract used by the app. Descriptions below are the CLI’s own summaries, not a second command implementation or proof every capability is available. Use commandem <verb> --help for flags and subcommands supported by your installed version.

commandem man --json
commandem autopilot --help

Scope, costs and authority

A project-taking command accepts the documented project pattern; an ambiguous match should not become a random dispatch. Check the exact selection before executing. Common flag meanings include --json for machine output, --apply for explicitly requested writes, --execute for actual execution and --dry-run for a preview where supported. Not every command implements every flag.

--watch polls while running. --yes can bypass a confirmation prompt but does not grant authority to publish private code, modify an unrelated project or spend an unapproved study budget. A displayed summary does not prove provider login, resource availability, sandbox behavior or permissions.

Worked examples

Choose a task below rather than guessing flags from a command name. Replace example-app with an exact registered project name, work with an existing signed-in Codex account, and RUN_ID with an actual local run ID. These are examples, not commands the website executes. Read-only examples do not invoke an agent, but their output can contain private project or conversation information. Do not paste it publicly without review.

  1. Inspect

Confirm the project, account and available evidence.

  2. Prepare and review

Stage a task, inspect its plan and choose its verification.

  3. Explicit action

Approve an exact run or confirm a bounded agent launch.

  4. Read the receipt

Inspect the result, gate evidence and diff before calling the work done.

From intent to evidence. Reading and staging are different from agent execution. A queued task can be picked up by an already-running runner; a receipt records an outcome, not automatic permission to merge or publish.

Inspect projects and conversations

Find an exact project name

Read-only Start here when you do not know the registered name. This lists registry entries, not every folder on disk.

commandem projects --json

Expected result: machine-readable registered project names and their configuration. Use an exact name in the examples below. Side effects: no agent launch or project registration. Command reference.

Read Campaigns and Missions

Read-only Requires a registered project with a readable roadmap. The command-local environment setting suppresses configured automatic tracker sync. Do not add edit, suggest or sync flags when you only want to inspect it.

COMMANDEM_NO_ROADMAP_AUTOSYNC=1 commandem roadmap example-app --json

Expected result: the project's Campaigns and Missions as JSON, or an explicit error if the manifest cannot be read. Side effects: this form disables opportunistic roadmap sync and does not edit the roadmap or invoke a model. Command reference · Plan concepts.

Find a configured account

Read-only This lists local Codex account profiles. A profile name is not proof of authentication or available quota.

commandem account --agent codex list --json

Expected result: configured profile metadata, including the inherited default entry and any named profiles. Choose an existing profile before using --account work. Side effects: no sign-in, account switch or agent request. Command reference · Account guide.

Find a conversation in one account

Read-only Replace both placeholders. The selected provider and account determine which native session archive is searched.

commandem sessions example-app --agent codex --account work --json

Expected result: available project sessions with their identifiers, or an explicit account/provider error. An empty archive is not evidence of deleted history. Side effects: does not resume or send a chat turn. Command reference · Resume versus bridge.

Find where you discussed a decision

Local cache maintenance Searches locally readable conversation archives across the currently selected project scope. The query is not a project argument; use supported group or tag filters to narrow the scope.

commandem chatsearch "verification" -i --role user --since 168h --json

Expected result: case-insensitive matching user turns in sessions active within seven days, grouped by project, plus skipped projects and a hit count. Zero matches does not prove all provider history was available. Side effects: reading Claude archives can refresh local transcript-summary sidecars. There is no model call, provider request or source-transcript edit. Snippets and cached summaries remain private conversation data even after secret redaction. Command reference.

Read unread board messages without clearing them

Local directory initialization only Select the destination project. Reading without --mark-read does not clear its unread state.

commandem board example-app --unread --json

Expected result: unread messages for the project, or an empty list. Side effects: can create the local board-state directory when absent. It does not write a message, launch an agent or update unread/read state. Command reference · Board boundaries.

Create and prepare local work

Create a document workspace

Writes local state Run from the intended parent folder and choose a new directory name. Documents, Simple and Blank are create-only starter options.

commandem new team-documents --template documents

Expected result: a registered local document workspace with lightweight starter content and a manifest. Side effects: creates files and local Git metadata and updates the registry. It does not create a remote, make a commit or launch an agent. An existing folder is refused without an explicit override. Command reference · First-project guide.

Record a private project decision

Writes local state Replace the project name and note text. This is the local scratchpad, not a GitHub comment or a cross-project message. Explicit append accepts an owner-controlled regular file and makes it owner-only; showing Notes alone does not repair legacy permissions.

commandem notes example-app "Decision: run the local tests before landing."
commandem notes example-app --json

Expected result: a timestamped note followed by the project's saved notes as JSON. Side effects: appends locally and creates or tightens the accepted file to mode 0600, preserving its earlier bytes; no provider request or automatic sync. A failed append can already have created the private directory or tightened the file's mode. Linked, multiply linked, nonregular or foreign-owned targets and group/world-writable Notes directories are refused. Inspect the reported cause and preserve content before correcting the intended file; do not use --clear to bypass a refusal. That flag deletes the scratchpad, not an undo history. Do not store credentials in notes. Command reference · Private Notes boundaries and recovery.

Preview one exact authored Task

Read-only Prepare a schema-1 reviewed-task-request.json naming the exact registered project, durable Mission and Task IDs, reviewed binding, capabilities and operation. Optional expected_source_revision and expected_mission_revision guard the Task and parent separately. Confirm your installed build exposes --preview-task; source review does not install the flag.

commandem sync planning --help
commandem sync planning --preview-task reviewed-task-request.json --json

Expected result: a common Planning preview and additive task_source naming the selected Task, exact parent, parent revision and omissions, or an explicit refusal on stderr with no successful JSON output. Missing, ambiguous, reparented or stale identities are not substituted. Side effects: reads the local request and authored manifest without rewriting them, saving configuration, accessing the operations store, calling a provider or starting an agent. The mapping and capabilities are descriptive evidence, not live access; the common digest does not bind every parent field or comment or guarantee an apply-time reread. Command reference · Request and mapping boundaries · Separate revision guards · Saved destination inspection.

Stage a task for later review

Writes local queue Use an existing project and named account. Check runner state first if you do not want planning to begin yet.

commandem enqueue example-app "Add regression tests for the parser." --agent codex --account work --verify "go test ./..."
commandem queue --json

Expected result: a queued run with the requested task, provider/account and verification contract, visible in the queue. Side effects: enqueue itself does not start an agent, but an active runner can pick up the task and spend quota; its execution policy determines when implementation begins. The full queue query also reconciles stale local workers and contacts configured fleet nodes; recovered quota-waiting work can be requeued for that runner. Command reference · Runner control.

Explicitly start bounded agent work

Run one isolated, verified task

Starts an agent Requires an authenticated work profile and a Go project with its toolchain ready. Review the task and test command before confirming the launch.

commandem autopilot example-app "Add regression tests for the parser." --agent codex --account work --worktree --verify "go test ./..." --max-turns 5 --on-limit stop

Expected result: a bounded run on an isolated branch. Completion requires the configured gate, and failures remain recorded outcomes. Side effects: spends provider quota, sends task/context to the selected provider, writes the isolated worktree and runs the test command. The five-turn cap is not a dollar or wall-clock guarantee; Codex cost reporting may be unavailable. No automatic merge or publish is requested. Command reference · Verified-run guide.

Approve one exact, reviewed run

Starts an agent Replace RUN_ID in both lines. The run must be awaiting approval; read its plan and account identity before executing the second command.

commandem queue --run RUN_ID --json
commandem approve --run RUN_ID

Expected result: the first command shows the exact local run and plan without full-queue reconciliation or fleet requests; the second claims and executes that eligible run, or refuses an ineligible state. Side effects: approval spends quota and permits implementation writes in an isolated worktree by default. Reading the plan is not approval, and approving execution does not authorize a merge or publication. Command reference · Review boundaries.

Inspect recorded results

Inspect finished-run receipts

Read-only Use after a run ends. Inspect the actual diff and verification artifacts as well as the recorded result.

commandem queue --receipts --json

Expected result: available finished-run receipts with recorded result and verification evidence, or an empty history. Missing evidence stays unknown; a terminal run is not necessarily a successful change. Side effects: does not retry, approve, merge or launch work. Command reference · Receipt interpretation.

Scoped lookup addendum: the acp, codescan, op and setup entries copy their checked-in CLI declarations. This four-command target and summary repair does not renew the handbook review date or source, certify other summaries, or verify installed command behavior.

Current source boundaries

Declaration review at source 8f06da03. Installed help, accounts and runtime availability remain separate evidence. Earlier source-specific notes below retain their original scope.

  • Profiles and billing: Claude status classifies a nonempty API credential source other than none as API credits even if a subscription plan is present; otherwise a known plan means subscription, else unknown. Personal or email-bearing organization labels are omitted. Gemini profile status is configuration-only, not verified sign-in. A classification does not measure a subsequent charge. See Profiles and accounts.
  • Managed and local runs: Managed enqueue stages locally. Hosted creation requires the supported explicit execution authority and budget. For hosted runs, bulk approval is refused; unattended, agent or plugin confirmation approval is refused. Explicitly authorized runner execution is separate. Role demotion and countdown values are configured policy, not proof that a running provider session changed account. Autopilot run-cap and seed-provenance hooks do not grant additional execution authority.
  • Inspection and sync: announce --lanes reads recorded ledger metadata, not live delivery or process health. Early inspection entry points do not imply that all ordinary command startup avoids local-state effects. Collaboration catalog/comment inventory and Mission-comment composition are metadata/preview operations, distinct from provider delivery or saved authority. Planning poll-health observation, source preview and reconciliation have separate effects. See Collaboration and Planning.
  • Roadmaps and experiments: linked-issue sync can merge local state and retain unresolved conflicts. Pull avoids outward issue updates but is not a universal no-write inspection. Experiment status and spend/cap on Mission, Board and rollup views are recorded declarations or reports, not proof of invocation, budget enforcement or fresh paid-run approval.
  • Trace and replay: observed ordinary nonzero command exits are distinguished from policy denials, sandbox failures and timeouts when category evidence exists. Legacy uncategorized errors stay errors. Missing timestamps and result bodies remain absent; a neutral exit marker does not mean the intended task succeeded. See Evidence and context.
  • Recipes and preferences: recipe metadata accepts strict TOML or YAML. The static community gallery intentionally extracts only a narrow YAML facet subset; listing or parsing a recipe does not authorize execution. CLI preferences include definition format, demotion, polling, operation integration, directive sync and recall scopes. Their values are separate from historical Settings initializer extracts. Slack webhook values remain private credentials.
  • Workbench outcomes: prune previews eligibility by default. Applying removal and land --rm retain safe-removal checks. Merge, post-merge installation and workbench cleanup are distinct outcomes; read hook output and verify actual main and installed identity separately. Source installation uses the primary integration checkout by default. See Installation prerequisites.

Agent runtime

Inspect each command’s help before acting. Project-taking commands are marked below; other commands can still contain scoped options or mutate global state.

commandem a2a

Governed agent-to-agent bus (phase 388): stage Tier-1 advisories, ask Tier-2 read-only questions, read the audit ledger.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem a2a --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem agents

Current declared help

List .claude/agents/*.md across registered projects; `agents <project> --rename <old> --to <new>` renames a subagent (e.g. the Commander orchestrator); `--create`/`--edit`/`--delete <name>` author one (the Agents-center backend). Agent Builder: `--templates`, `--create --template <slug>`, `--validate`, `--source <name>` (print the exact stored TOML/YAML/JSON, read-only), `--compile --engine <...>`, `--check`, `--import`/`--export --to managed-agents`, `--export --to managed-agents --deploy [--execute]` (originate + publish a local definition to Managed Agents), `--export --to outcome-gate` (stdout-only unreviewed manual draft), `--check-findings -` (stdin-only committed-location check), `--convert --to <toml|yaml|json>`.

Baseline exported help · 11249a60

List .claude/agents/*.md across registered projects; `agents <project> --rename <old> --to <new>` renames a subagent (e.g. the Commander orchestrator); `--create`/`--edit`/`--delete <name>` author one (the Agents-center backend).

Additional source behavior: listing includes editable .claude/agents/*.md and read-only VS Code .github/agents/*.agent.md definitions. A same-name .claude definition takes listing precedence. commandem agents PROJECT --json shows metadata, including source: "github" and read_only: true for VS Code definitions; it does not include their instruction bodies. commandem agents PROJECT --show NAME can read either set’s instructions. Replace PROJECT with a registered project and NAME with a listed definition; instructions may contain private project context. Edit, delete and rename operate on editable .claude definitions, never the original .github file. Creating an editable copy is separate and does not launch an agent. Review the Agents center’s copy boundaries before adapting VS Code model/tool settings.

Source note: these listing/read boundaries were additionally reviewed at CLI 61d89aeb. The baseline exported-help text dates to 11249a60; the current source review is shown above. An installed build is not certified here.

Use --show to read instructions, and inspect commandem agents --help for authoring metadata, project scope and confirmation behavior. These file operations do not launch an agent.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem agents --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem analyze

Analyze an image or a running dev-server URL (screenshotted via headless Chrome) with claude. --against <design> = verify an implementation against its mockup.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem analyze --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem approvals

List pending tool approvals across all live chats (cross-project inbox).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem approvals --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem approve-tool

Allow or deny a pending tool approval (from `commandem approvals`).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem approve-tool --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem assist

Request orchestrator help from inside a project: stages a plan-only help run for owner approval + posts a board note (no run starts; the enqueue safety class). See also: enqueue, handoff, board.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem assist --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem audit

Committee audit: fan one structured audit prompt out to a panel of independent model judges, then synthesize consensus/disagreements/unique findings. Dry-run by default; --execute spends (local/apple judges are free). See also: review, eval-codebase.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem audit --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem auto-triage

Run a diagnostic AI session on attention-bucket projects (dry-run by default).

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem auto-triage --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem autopilot

Run claude toward a goal unattended (auto-approve + auto-continue; not `ask`).

--mission Project@m-xxxxxxxx binds an existing Mission in the selected project to the run and receipt; a dangling or wrong-project reference is refused before dispatch. The legacy Project#N alias is accepted and canonicalized. Enqueue requires one local project for this flag; grouped and fleet-node targets cannot silently drop it. Queueing is separate from execution, but an active runner can pick up queued work.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem autopilot --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try an isolated, bounded run with verification. This starts an agent and can spend quota and write files.

commandem brief-me

Generate an AI daily briefing from your project state (reads state; not `brief`, which writes CLAUDE.md).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem brief-me --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem cap

Hard-floor authorization broker (phase 136): mediate a floor command an unattended run needs, authorized by a live human ceremony -- the wall stays whole, this is a door beside it.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem cap --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem commit

Draft a Conventional Commits message from the staged diff (local model first).

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem commit --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem conduct

Multi-agent conductor: LLM-decompose ONE goal into tailored per-project tasks, dispatch each as an isolated autopilot run, integrate a review (not `orchestrate`'s verbatim broadcast).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem conduct --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

--mission Project@m-id attaches an existing roadmap Mission to every worker run and receipt. The selected project set must contain exactly that one project; invalid references are refused before dispatch. Dry-run output shows the canonical reference. Other dispatch, confirmation and provider-cost rules remain unchanged.

commandem deployment

Managed Deployments (hosted cron) for a linked Managed Agent: ls|show|create|pause|resume|rm. D5 guardrails: both a per-run AND a daily budget cap are required to create one; create/pause/resume/rm are refused inside an unattended run or a plugin; create is dry-run until --execute; rm ARCHIVES (there is no delete).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem deployment --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem design

Stage an implement-this-design task from a Figma link, a claude.ai artifact link, or a local mockup (design->code intake; plan-only). See also: enqueue, conduct, analyze.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem design --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem enqueue

Queue a cross-project agent task (state-only; no run). --tag/--group queue for a whole set.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem enqueue --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try staging one task. Enqueue writes the queue; an active runner can pick it up and spend quota.

commandem eval-codebase

Send a codebase summary to an LLM for independent quality assessment (dry-run by default).

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem eval-codebase --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem evidence

Export one run's lifecycle, receipt, diffstat, policy decisions, and A2A events as a reviewable JSON bundle.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem evidence --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem experiment

Inspect the cross-project experiment lifecycle ledger or statistical results without running models or hooks.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem experiment --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem fleet

Register remote Outpost nodes or Managed Agents surfaces and see their agent runs in `commandem queue` (fleet aggregation; add/ls/rm). For local agent/model/account bindings, see `roles`, `account`, `provider`, or `model` instead.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem fleet --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem handoff

Hand a task from this project (cwd, or --from) to another: stages an unattended run on the target with the origin's context attached AND posts a board handoff note. Pull-based (nothing runs until the runner). See also: enqueue, tell, board.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem handoff --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem hooks

Install, inspect, or remove Commandem token tiering for raw Claude sessions.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem hooks --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem issue

Enqueue a task from a GitHub issue (or failing CI run). Fetches title+body via gh, queues an AgentRun.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem issue --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem kill

Hard kill the agent runtime + drop a cross-process stop sentinel.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem kill --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem measure

Measure whether injected context (directives, recipes, memory seeds, or this project's full brief) changes agent behavior: with/without A/B, deterministic checkers.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem measure --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem model

Show or switch the LOCAL model (auto-discovers ollama / LM Studio / vLLM; persists for the CLI + app).

--json labels the selected default and the source of each tier (override, measured or inferred). Parameter count, quantization, weight size and RAM fit are advisory name-based estimates against this client, not the server. --try sends one prompt without changing defaults; --try - reads at most 64 KiB of stdin. --grade --json runs and saves a smoke grade. Both actions contact the configured server, which may be remote or metered; neither certifies model quality or safe tool execution.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem model --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem nudge

Auto-continue a STALLED session commandem OWNS (bounded + killable). Refuses an external session (adopt via `commandem chat`). See `commandem stalled`.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem nudge --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem op

Propose, authorize, dispatch, and track a quota-sized, dependency-ordered OPERATION of roadmap work (Mission 850).

op plan --theater NAME narrows candidates to Campaigns declaring that theater. It intersects with project opt-in and tag filters; an unknown theater is refused. A theater scopes planning, while a workspace scopes views. Planning does not dispatch the operation.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem op --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem orchestrate

Bounded parallel fan-out: run independent sub-tasks concurrently, each an isolated autopilot run (deliberate, not a swarm). Or broadcast one --goal ACROSS projects with --all/--group/--tag.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem orchestrate --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

--mission Project@m-id attaches an existing roadmap Mission to every worker run and receipt. The selected project set must contain exactly that one project; invalid references are refused before dispatch. Dry-run output shows the canonical reference. Other dispatch, confirmation and provider-cost rules remain unchanged.

commandem policy

Fleet policy: editable never/ask-first/allowed command rules across every repo + agent. All tiers editable (incl. floor lifts via unsafe-allow); lifts are disclosed, never silent. `grants` lists the human-approved exact-operation grants the approval cards save (shared across compatible agents).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem policy --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem post-commit

commandem queue

List queued/in-flight/finished runner runs.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem queue --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try reading finished-run receipts. Reading receipts does not run work; --prune instead mutates retained queue records.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem skills --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem suggest

Suggest your next chat message from a project's own tracked conversations (retrieval; --generate for a local model; --reply for smart-replies to the agent's last message).

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem suggest --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem swarm

Inspect and control a bounded swarm of worker runs.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem swarm --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem transition

Resolve a provider-neutral chat transition, review or seal a Matrix bridge at a request boundary, offer a reviewed quota handback, or record delivered-bridge outcome and relationship feedback.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem transition --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

Self-management

Inspect each command’s help before acting. Project-taking commands are marked below; other commands can still contain scoped options or mutate global state.

commandem account

Manage native login and isolated account profiles for supported agents.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem account --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try listing configured profiles. Listing does not sign in; other account actions can change authentication or local configuration.

commandem backup

Export all commandem state to a portable tar.gz archive (or restore from one).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem backup --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem focus --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem man

Generate a groff man page (commandem.1) for the command surface. --json emits the verb tree instead.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem man --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem prefs

Get or set global commandem preferences (e.g. default_mode).

attention_exclude_tags defaults to research-fixture when unset. An explicitly empty value disables tag exclusion; clearing the key restores the built-in default. commandem chatsearch

Full-text search across every project's Claude conversation transcripts (vs `search`'s code grep).

No positional project contract Inspect commandem chatsearch --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try finding an earlier decision. The query is not a project argument; matches can expose private conversation text.

commandem codescan

Scan projects' source CONTENT for dangerous patterns (eval/exec injection, unsafe deserialization, shell injection, XSS sinks, disabled TLS verification, weak crypto, hardcoded credentials). Critical/high findings raise attention.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem codescan --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem comment

Comment on a durable local target thread, configure its destination default, migrate legacy Notes/comments, or comment on a legacy activity-feed event.

commandem digest

Weekly work summary across registered projects (workbenches hidden by default).

The digest hides agent-workbench lanes before gathering their activity. Use --include-workbenches to include them; JSON reports hidden_workbenches and keeps the count note on stderr.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem digest --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem metrics

Report local, content-free lifecycle coverage, export a redacted diagnostic bundle, or derive read-only Plan/Week outcomes.

commandem metrics --reliability --report-privacy strict --json reports aggregate recorded lifecycle outcomes and incomplete journeys without starting a run. Standard mode includes bounded joined evidence; Strict aggregates it and Incognito suppresses reads. Empty or incomplete evidence is not a zero-failure or latency claim. This mode cannot combine with planning, export or installed verification.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem metrics --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem monitor

No positional project contract Inspect commandem search --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem sessions

List sessions for a project; --agent selects Claude, Codex, Gemini, or Local; --view tails one.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem sessions --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try listing one account's conversations. Listing is distinct from the explicit labeling, export and training actions under the same command.

commandem sessions --capture-status --json inspects retained Matrix capture metadata without creating, repairing or quarantining records. Counts cover the global capture store, including historical records; a complete inspection is not a clean-data or training-readiness verdict. Missing, busy, unsafe and budget-limited state are reported explicitly. No Project means participation is not evaluated. An optional Project checks only its current recorder opt-in, not eligibility of a whole future transition. Capture is off unless each involved project explicitly participates.

This inspection reports individual valid event envelopes and declared preparation/delivery times. It does not prove human exposure, complete capture, usefulness, linked training examples, or model training. It is separate from --learning-status, which reports the relationship-label corpus and scorer. Use this standalone mode with only an optional Project and --json; it never fits or activates a model.

commandem stalled

List stuck sessions across providers and Profiles; owned ones can `commandem nudge`, external ones adopt through the reported provider identity.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem stalled --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem vulns --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem waste

Flag Claude sessions with model-tier overspend (model OUTRANKS what the router would pick) or a low cache-hit rate (below what the session's turn count should plausibly achieve). Observation-only; high-confidence by default, --all adds medium. See `tokens`/`route`.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem waste --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem week

One concurrent weekly snapshot: needs-you inbox, roadmap candidates, verified completions, reminders, usage, and digest.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem week --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem manifest

Show or edit a project's commandem.toml convention fields (comment-preserving).

Project-scoped writes through manifest --write, roadmap, roles set and project role preferences refuse a target that is another worktree of the same repository. Use the workbench’s own registered project when that is the intended target. The explicit --primary option is for a deliberate reviewed cross-worktree edit; inspection does not need it.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem manifest --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem migrate

Import beacon's project registry into polaris's.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem migrate --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem new

Create a documents, simple, blank, or coding workspace, or use a GitHub template repo.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem new --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try creating a document workspace. Creation writes files and registry state; coding and GitHub-template starters have different effects.

commandem notes

Per-project scratchpad: append, show, or clear timestamped notes.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem notes --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try recording and reading a private decision. Explicit append makes an accepted file owner-only and refuses unsupported targets; reading alone leaves legacy permissions unchanged. Inspect append boundaries and recovery before retrying. --clear removes the project's scratchpad.

Configure the standard directive modules (privacy/secrets/finish/commit) that `brief` propagates.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem onboard --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem recipe

Reusable prompt library: render a curated/your-own template with project context; search/install/publish to a registry.

Recipe front matter can preserve mcp_servers and globs declarations through parsing. These are inert metadata: parsing does not attach servers, authorize execution, validate preset names or evaluate globs.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem recipe --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem redact

Mask likely secrets (API keys, tokens, private keys) in stdin -> stdout.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem rename --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem roadmap

Show or edit a project's roadmap: its Campaigns and the Missions that support them.

--pin N and --unpin N select a Mission by its current one-based position; --pin-campaign N and --unpin-campaign N select a Campaign. Pins are local owner view state, stored under the durable project/item reference in Commandem’s support directory. They survive authored reordering and do not edit commandem.toml. Pinning requires a durable ID; inspect the selected project and item before changing it.

Without a project, the board and rollup hide agent-workbench lanes by default. Use --include-workbenches to include them; JSON reports hidden_workbenches and keeps the count note on stderr. An explicit project read remains available.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem roadmap --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. Try reading Campaigns and Missions. Edit, sync, promotion and suggestion flags have different write, network or model effects.

commandem scan

Scan a directory tree for git repos and register them in bulk.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem scan --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

Takes a project pattern Inspect commandem workbench --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.

commandem workspace

Purpose-scoped workspaces: while one is ACTIVE, every surface (status/sidebar/stream/menubar) shows ONLY its projects -- a scoped instance without a separate registry. `--all-workspaces` (any verb) bypasses. See also: group, smartgroup.

No positional project contract Inspect commandem workspace --help for flags, subcommands and confirmation behavior. The summary is not a promise that this command is read-only.
